Christ’s Body

Now you [collectively] are Christ’s body, and individually [you are] members of it [each with his own special purpose and function]. – 1 Corinthians 12:27 AMP

As the members in the human body, so the different members of the mystical body of Christ.

All are intended by him to have the same relation to each other; to be mutually subservient to each other; to mourn for and rejoice with each other.

He has also made each necessary to the beauty, proportion, strength, and perfection of the whole.

Not one is useless; not one unnecessary.

The Lord Jesus is the head over the Body, and His supreme command is that love should prevail in the hearts of all. He desires that we consider the needs of others before our own.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of being united to Christ by faith and being part of Your body – the Church. Thank You for my sisters in Christ, and I pray that we would be united together in love. I pray that in all things we would learn to love You with all our heart and soul and mind and strength and put the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ before our own, for Your greater praise and glory – this I ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN.
