|If you could give a bit of advice to your younger Leader and/or Business Owner what would it be?||
Be true to your core values. It is so hard when starting up a small business to want to ‘discount’ to get your brand out there. What you actually end up doing is discounting yourself and your values. Stand firm, stay true and trust in God!
|What Are You Three Favourite Things About Being A Business Owner...||
1. I enjoy the flexibility. I initially came to be working for myself when my daughter was born and the corporate law firm environment wasn’t working for me. I started Impero Conveyancing and the business grew as my daughter grew allowing me to be flexible with her needs and the business needs.
2. Only in the last couple of years have I really enjoyed joining groups, continuing personal development to see where my role and career will go. Being my own boss allows me to autonomy to explore alternative options. I am currently working through my strengths and weakness, setting goals to see what the future holds!
3. I have never been a person who likes to “manage” others, so being a business owner who employs staff (and human resources is not my strong skill) I am able to be the employer I had always wish I had. I can show empathy, I can be kind, I can be generous, I can share.
|What's Your "Go To" Business Bibles Verse & Why?||
“Not that I have already reached the goal or am already perfect, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus.”
I like this verse and the essence of Paul in Philippians. Press On. No natter what comes to you, press on. Life is a work in progress.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I like this one as it seems foundational in running a business. No matter what hurdles I may come across, stand strong and know God is there and has a plan.
